Soccer Internationals..

Life at campus can be very monotonous if it wasn't for the many varieties of activities available for participants. Here is a photo of the OIC team (yellow iniform) with a local soccer club before a Sunday friendly match on 27th Sept 2009.

BIRTHDAY...

Thanks to my instructors and course mates, I am honoured with a cake which I shared with everyone else... Low key event but very memorable.

The Other Woman In My Life

Meet Kristiana. She is is 10 months old and loves two thing; play and gnaw with books and Master Teddy, that is her cuddly bear doll. Here her smile betrayed her guilt. Here she was caught red-handed trying to gnaw at her papa's newly purchased mobile phone manual with her first baby tooth (visible). Well, cute smile though....

Unique Solomon Reggae Music Blend

This is one of my favourite songs from Solomon Islands. The inique Solomon style of reggae music blended contemporay reggae/dancehall rhythmns and to the local variance to produce a very much unique sound but very much akin to the music styles that can be found in neighbouring countries like Papua New Guinea and Vanuatu...

Okinawa on the map

Today would be my fifth day here in Okinawa but this little (Japanese standards) islands on the southern tip of Japan never fail to impress me.

I am told that the Okinawan culture is considerably different than mainland Japan, and so is the food. As a former independent country - 100 years ago, Okinawans through the ages have always considered themselves different from mainland Japanese. I find this assertion easy to accept as even the geographical nature of the islands and their climates vary considerably, a clear inidication that these two locations would ultimately evolved in their own page to two distinct cultures.

Today I am supposed to learn how to upload loads of photos so I'll see what I can do....

Wow? My First Blogspot!!

Hey Friends,

I created this blogspot just a week after my short stint in Okinawa, Japan and I hope that it will be of some (positive) use to me during my stay here and possibly after my return to my home country, Solomon Islands sometimes in December.

I would also like to add that this spot will be used mainly to upload my works while attending this Media Course in Okinawa as well as photos during my stay in Japan. And of course, I am also hoping that I will find time to keep a daily dairy on this spot, documenting just about anything that I can write, illustrate or photgraph about.

I am hoping that this will be fun and enjoyable.

Welkam Frens! (Welcome Friends, as we say it in Solomon Islands)
