Today would be my fifth day here in Okinawa but this little (Japanese standards) islands on the southern tip of Japan never fail to impress me.
I am told that the Okinawan culture is considerably different than mainland Japan, and so is the food. As a former independent country - 100 years ago, Okinawans through the ages have always considered themselves different from mainland Japanese. I find this assertion easy to accept as even the geographical nature of the islands and their climates vary considerably, a clear inidication that these two locations would ultimately evolved in their own page to two distinct cultures.
Today I am supposed to learn how to upload loads of photos so I'll see what I can do....
